Joseph Alves Obituary
Joseph L. Alves, age 62, of Stratford, beloved husband of Donna Brown Alves, passed away peacefully on Christmas morning. Born in Vila do Conde, Vidago, Portugal on April 19, 1952, he was a son of the late Flavio and Maria Lopes Alves. Joe, along with his wife, owned Brown's Marina in Stratford. He was a man who believed in working hard and taking care of his family. He spent every day at the marina. He cherished the time spent with his wife, daughter and grandchildren. His values and memory will continue to live on through them; Joe will truly be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his beloved wife Donna, survivors include his loving daughter, Shana Alves of Stratford, two cherished grandchildren, Leila and Terence Davis, a brother, Antonio Alves and his wife Lucy of Shelton, three sisters, Belinha Baptista and her husband Val of Trumbull, Flavia Pinto of Bridgeport and Clarinha Cardadeiro and her husband Manuel of Brazil, father-in-law, Donald Brown of Stratford, as well as several aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. So sorry for your loss. My son and his friend, Elijah and Chris, bought a boat last summer and keep it at Browns, Joe was a big help to them. I don't know what they'll do without his help, he will be missed.
