Joseph J. Attardo Sr.

ATTARDO Mr. Joseph J. Attardo, Sr, age 69, of lifelong resident of Milford, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2004 in the Hospital of St. Raphael, New Haven. Son of the late Vincenzo and Congettina Bergio Attardo, he was born on May 14, 1935 in Milford. Mr. Attardo was the owner of the former Joe's Barber Shop in Devon, and presently worked at Woodmont Haircutters, Milford, until his illness. He also attended the Culinary Institute and worked in several area restaurants where he received awards for his cooking. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary Church, Milford. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Attardo is survived by two sons, James S. Attardo and Christopher W. Attardo, both of West Haven; a daughter, Pauline M. D'Orsi and her husband, Paul, of Milford; his former wife, Rosalie Marino Attardo; a grandson, Trevor Hudak; two brothers, Louis and James Attardo; two sisters, Mildred Reynolds and Mary Russo, all of Milford; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Joseph J. Attardo Jr; two brothers, Charles and David Attardo; and three sisters, Lillian Vanacore, Daisy T. Giordano, and Rosemarie Kimball. Funeral Service from the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street on the Green, Milford, at 8:15 a.m. on Monday, November 15, 2004, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church, Milford at 9 a.m. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Milford.
