Joseph Calogine Obituary

CALOGINE Joseph Calogine, 59, of Shelton, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at the Connecticut Hospice, in Branford. He was the devoted husband of 34 years, to Christine Jaros Calogine, and the beloved father of Katherine Claire Calogine, and the late Lisa Ann Calogine. Joe was born in Bridgeport on January 8, 1944, son of the late Joseph and Anna Marcisovsky Calogine, and had been a Shelton resident for more than 31 years. Joe graduated from the Paier College of Art and became an accomplished artist having won many awards throughout his career, including first place in oils at the Barnum Festival. He was the vice president of construction and planning for more than 15, years at Ames Department Stores. Joe then entered into the construction and painting field starting his own company, Calogine Design, which he worked at for more than 10 years, he presently was employed as the director of engineering for five years at the Brighton Gardens in Stamford. He is also survived by a brother, Anthony Calogine; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. His funeral will leave Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Friday at 10:15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton. Friends may greet the family on Thursday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m. At the request of the family memorial contributions may be made to The Joseph Calogine Memorial Fund to benefit students at St. Lawrence School, 505 Shelton Avenue, Shelton, CT 06484.
