Joseph Dutko Obituary

DUTKO Joseph Dutko, age 80, of Newtown, formerly of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Anna Ungrady Dutko, died Saturday, May 24, 2003 at Ashlar of Newtown. Mr. Dutko was born in East Rochester, N.Y. and resided in Bridgeport, Lewisville, Tx. and later in Newtown. Mr. Dutko was a contractor with the Kadar-Lagana Construction Co. in Fairfield for 25 years and was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He was honored by the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Munhall, Pa. for extraordinary church construction in 1989. Survivors include his wife; son, Stephen of Auburn, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. Donna Marie Hair and Deborah Ann Dutko, both of Fairfield; one brother, John Dutko of Villa Park, Ill.; and two sisters, Helen Gomez of Riverside, Calif. and Bette Sapp of Newark, N.Y. Mr. Dutko has three granddaughters; three grandson; and two great-grandsons. He was predeceased by his eldest son, Richard. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at 9:15 a.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 1640 Boston Avenue (corner of Ridgefield Avenue) and at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Trumbull with a divine liturgy. Internment in St. Michael-s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ahlbin Rehab Center, 2600 Post Road, Fairfield will be appreciated.

Sorry to hear of JOE's passing. I worked with him in 1955 and after. He was a great guy with always a smile.Not to many of his kind left
