Joseph Fiorini Obituary
November 7, 1935 - May 31, 2023
Harmony --- Joseph Fiorini, age 87, of Harmony, Maine, passed away on May 31 at Northern Light Medical Center in Bangor. He grew up and resided most of his life in Bridgeport, CT, before relocating to Maine in 2007. Joe attended Bullard Havens Technical High School. A tool and die maker by trade, he worked for many area companies including VCA, Specialty Packaging, Emson Research and Owens-Brockway. In 1993, he founded Accumold Technologies, Inc., where he remained until his retirement.
Lovingly referred to as "Junior" by his family, he was predeceased by his parents Giuseppe and Francesca Fiorini, sisters Carmella (Connie) & Olivia (Dolly) and brothers Domenic and Angelo. He is survived by his wife Olimpia "Claudia" Fiorini (Ratini), brother John Fiorini and wife Mary of Trumbull, CT, sons Joe Fiorini and wife Jessica of Newtown, CT, Nick Fiorini and partner Wendy of Meriden, CT, Tony Fiorini of Harmony, ME, grandchildren Kathryn, Nicholas and Molly as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews throughout the country.
Even though Joe was in the tool and die trade, he also had impressive skills as a plumber, mechanic, carpenter and electrician. One of his favorite quotes was, "I can fix anything but a broken heart and the crack of dawn…but I'm working on it!" Nobody doubted him.
His fondness for the state of Maine began in his late teens when he would travel to the woods for deer hunting season every November. In 1976, he was able to purchase his own hunting property, with hopes of creating a camp for those with a similar love of the outdoors as well as a retreat to escape from the 9 to 5 factory world. Using all his skills, along with the help of friends and family, his dream finally came to fruition with the opening of Outsider's Rustic Campground in 2016.
