Joseph Hines Obituary

HINES Joseph William Hines, age 70, of Easton, Md., formerly of Stratford, beloved husband for 47 years of Judith A. (Firmender) Hines died peacefully in his home on Saturday, July 25, 2009 with his loving wife and children by his bedside. Mr. Hines was born in Bridgeport, April 29, 1939, son of the late William Joseph and Angelina (Marella) Hines. He was a 1957 graduate of Stratford High School and after graduation served in the United States Air Force stationed in Korea. He was the owner of Bride and Boutique in Stratford and worked for DuPont/Remington Arms, Bridgeport in the sales and marketing of firearms. He lived in Stratford until 1986 and then moved to Wilmington, DE where he remained until 1996 when he moved to Easton, Maryland. Joe loved the beach and watching a beautiful sunset over the Chesapeake Bay. He had a great sense of humor, was a gourmet cook and enjoyed golf, traveling and sailing. Most importantly, he loved his wife, children, grandchildren, his dog Bessy and his friends. He was a member of Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Easton, MD., and Saint Mark's Church in Stratford. In addition to his beloved wife Judith whom he married on November 23, 1961, he is survived by his daughter, Kathleen Williamson and her husband John of Phoenix, AZ; his two sons, William Hines and his wife Patricia of Stratford and Patrick Hines and his wife Mozghan of Newark, DE., and eight adored grandchildren, Megin, Nicole, Sean, Kevin, Kaitlin, Madeline, Molly and Matthew. Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service celebrated by Monsignor Peter Dora on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 10:30 .m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street Stratford. Interment will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. service time. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 501 Idlewild Ave, Easton, MD 21601 or to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
