Joseph Jacovino Obituary

Joseph R. Jacovino Jr.
Joseph R. Jacovino, Jr., age 88, of Trumbull passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 2, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Elaine (Frybarger) Jacovino. Born in Bridgeport on October 20, 1935, he was the son of the late Joseph R. and Ann (Zullo) Jacovino, Sr. A graduate of Central High School and proud member of the Army National Guard, Joseph later managed various local grocery stores, Pantry Pride and Grand Union to name a few. He married his high school sweetheart and together raised a family and shared 67 years of wedded bliss. He loved gardening and cultivating tomatoes and figs were his favorite. His greatest enjoyment however was found in the time he spent surrounded by his loving family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he adored. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his beloved wife Elaine, other survivors include his devoted children, Joseph R. Jacovino III and his wife Kimberly and Jill Bohn and her husband Robert, his cherished grandchildren, Rachel Rotell and her husband Jason, Hunter Bohn and his fiancé Caitlin, Jessica Pellerano and her husband CJ, Stephanie Condolora and her husband Jamie and Jennifer Jacovino and her boyfriend Colton, his adored great-grandchildren, Carter Joseph Rotell, Cesar Joseph Pellerano and Constance Ferraro, his sister-in-law, Eleanor Frybarger, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers-in-law, Homer and Fred Frybarger, his sister-in-law, Linda Frybarger, and grandson, David Volturno.

To the Jacovino family. I am so saddened to see this. I worked with Joe for many years at Grand Union. He was such a nice guy who got along with everyone. It has been a long time since I have seen or spoken to Joe but thought of him often as well as a lot of my Grand Union coworkers. We all worked together like a family, and he will be missed. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
