Joseph Regula Obituary

REGULA Mr. Joseph G. Regula, age 80, of Ansonia, died Sunday at The Griffin Hospital, Derby. He was the husband of the late Nina Savitsky Regula. He was born in Derby on September 1, 1922, son of the late Stanislaw and Anna Kolbusz Regula. He was a veteran of World War II U.S. Army serving in the 882nd Airborne Engineer Aviation Battalion in the South Pacific. He was employed by the Farrel Co. for 42 years, retiring as core room foreman in 1983. In 1987, he was appointed as head custodian at the Ansonia Library, a job that he held unitil his death. He was a former member of the Zoning Board of Appeals, FarrelPs Old Timers Club, LafayettePs Athletic Club, Derby Eagles (outside guard), former softball player for the Derby Welders, The Derby Eagles, the LafayettePs and AlPs Music Room. He was a candidate of the Second Ward Alderman in the 1990. Survivors are two daughters, Sharon Besso of Lyme, New Hampshire and Gail Regula of Ansonia; one brother, Edward Regula of North Carolina; and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters, Jenny Morosko and Mary Torcelloini; and one brother, Stanley Regula. All services were private. The Bennett Funeral Home, 91 North Cliff Street, Ansonia.
