Joseph E. Rogucki, Jr.
Joseph E. Rogucki, age 75, of Shelton peacefully entered into eternal rest in his home surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with ALS on Saturday, February 12, 2022. He was the beloved husband of 54 years to Nardine (Sember) Rogucki. He was born in Derby on December 18, 1946 the son of the late Joseph and Eileen (Dudik) Rogucki and was a Shelton resident all of his life. Joe proudly served his country as a member of the US Army and was stationed in Vietnam. When he came home, he went to work for the Markut Oil Company. He then went on to own the Automatic Heating Company and would eventually retire from the Davis Oil Company. Joe was a member of St. Michael Church where he assisted as an usher. He also was a member of the Czech American Club where he joined the gun club and helped out at many functions over the years. Joe loved fishing and cherished the times he went on fishing charters with his son. He also adored spending time with his grandchildren and putzing around his basement. Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons David Rogucki (Jessica) of Colorado and Michael Rogucki (Nicole) of Derby, and 5 much loved grandchildren Achilles, Archimedes, and Athena Rogucki and Robert and Abigail Rogucki. He is also survived by his brother George Rogucki and sister Barbara Rich (Norman) and several nieces and nephews. On Friday friends are invited to go directly to St. Michael Church, 75 Derby Ave., Derby at 10 a.m. for his Mass of Christian Burial. Burial with full military honors will follow in Mt.
