Joseph Turziano Obituary

Joseph F. Turziano
Joseph F. Turziano, age 89, of Monroe, formerly of Trumbull and Bridgeport, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Florence (Savo) Turziano for 56 years.
Born in Bridgeport on June 21, 1933, Joseph was the oldest son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Vitale) Turziano, predeceased by his brother, Robert S. Turziano.
Joseph was a graduate of Fairfield Preparatory School. He attended the University of Connecticut and several technical schools. He served proudly in the U.S. Army, for two years during the Korean War. He spent his career as an independent contractor, draftsman, designer and engineer, specializing in metal and plastic tooling. He retired from Spectrum Plastics Co. of Ansonia in 1995.
Joseph loved to bowl, becoming the president of the Monroe Men's Bowling League for 25 years. He was an avid reader who enjoyed golfing, making toys and doll houses for his grandchildren and others, collecting model cars and coins. His other great joy was gardening, growing tomatoes and roses. He treasured the bus trips he and his wife took with their friends and tried to never miss a UCONN girls' basketball or NY Giants football game.
Survivors include his three loving children, Judith Turziano and her husband Thomas Emanuel of Shelton, Karen Osborne of Milford and John Turziano and his wife Debbie of Wheeling, West Virginia. Joseph is also survived by his six grandchildren, Adam Emanuel, Natalie, Trevor and Kaylee Osborne, and Matthew and Nicholas Turziano. Joseph was a loving father and grandfather who cherished time with his family. While his loss will be profoundly felt, there is consolation knowing that he is now reunited with his loving wife, Florence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull, followed by burial with full military honors at Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may greet the family on Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association. For online condolences, please visit us at www.abriola.com .

Joe was a good friend and neighbor in two places, Trumbull and Monroe. Always helpful and friendly, and a good listener. Shared his love of books with all of us. Joe will be missed by his family and his friends.

Judy, Karen and John thinking of all of you and sending our deepest condolences. Uncle Joe and Aunt Florence were like a second parents to me. I stayed countless times, went on vacation with you and always felt comfortable and welcomed by them. They both have always held a special place in my heart and will be missed. God bless them both and now they are back together again. Love them both! RIP Uncle Joe.
