Julia A. Rodie
Julia A. Rodie, of Waynesboro, VA, departed this life on November 4, 2024 at age 86.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Bette B. Rodie; nieces, Teresa Rodie Kennedy and her partner, Victor Sesto; and Susan Ontra and her husband, Buddy; nephews, Geoffrey Rodie and Attorney Wilfred J. Rodie, Jr. and his wife, Christine. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary (Rusbarsky) Nelson and Oscar Nelson; her beloved husband Charles (Chuck) Rodie and her brother-in-law, Wilfred J. Rodie, Sr.
Julia graduated from Harding High School in Bridgeport. In 1957, she married her one and only love, Chuck. Julia spent her career as a secretary. She and Chuck enjoyed trips to Hawaii, riding motorcycles and their many Dachshunds. After she and Chuck retired, Julia helped him get his aviator's license. They bought a 4 passenger Cessna jet and relocated to Eagle's Nest Airport in Virginia where they continued to share and enjoy the thrill of flying.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford and at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow at St. Michael Garden Mausoleum. Please visit www.pisteyfuneralhome.com to express condolences.
