Karen Westbrook Obituary
Karen L. (Keenan) Westbrook of Rocky Hill, CT, daughter of Joseph and Vera Bondeson Keenan, passed away Saturday, September 27, at the age of 83, in her home, surrounded by her loving family, following a 45-year battle with multiple sclerosis. Born in Stratford, CT, on November 15, 1941. She was a graduate of Stratford High in 1959. There, she was a cheerleader, class treasurer and participated in other school functions. She went on to Graduate from Southern CT State College, majoring in Elementary + Special Education. She then went to teach at the Gengras Center at St. Josephs College in West Hartford, CT. Later, she moved on to the West Hartford School System. Karen loved teaching Special Ed students.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Westbrook; brother, Dennis Keenan, and his wife, Mary, of Farmington, CT; sisters, Judith Keenan of Stratford, CT and Gene Willis of Hamden, CT; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Karen was predeceased by her sister with special needs, Kathy Keenan.
The family will receive friends and relatives, Thursday, October 9th, 2025, at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill, CT, from 1:00p.m. to 2:00p.m., with a Memorial Service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donation in Karen's honor be made to the National MS Society, https://www.nationalmssociety.org .
