Karen Zalewski Obituary

Karen L. Zalewski
NAUGATUCK - Karen L. Zalewski, 60, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022 at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. She was the wife of Thomas Zalewski.
Known to family and friends as "Mama Z" and "Kramer", Karen was born July 16, 1961, in Bridgeport, CT and worked as an Applications Analyst for COCC in Southington, CT.
In addition to her husband of nearly 32 years, Karen leaves behind her two daughters Lauren Zalewski of Seattle, WA and Lindsay Zalewski Catanzaro and her husband Robert of Oakville, CT. Karen also leaves behind her mother Angela (Errico) Barberio, her brother Kenneth Barberio and wife Kellyann, brother-in-law Gerald Zalewski and wife Martha, sister-in-law June Gallucci and husband Antonio, sister-in-law Diane Zalewski and partner Pam London. She will be missed by her nephews Antonio, Ricardo, and Dante, her nieces Robyn, Stephanie, and Danielle, and her lifelong friends Holly and Dennis Torok. She was predeceased by her father Ralph Barberio.
She loved playing bingo, video games, watching General Hospital, and lazy summer days floating in her pool. She was an avid music fan with a vast knowledge of rock and roll music; she was always cranking up her stereo with Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, and Led Zeppelin. Karen will forever be remembered for her big smile and infectious laugh. She loved her family and friends unconditionally. Everyone that knew her was lucky to have her in their lives and she will be greatly missed.
Arrangements: At Karen's request, services will be private and burial will be at the convenience of her family. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow Street, is assisting with her arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in Karen's name.
