Kathleen Devine Obituary

DEVINE Kathleen E. Kelly Devine, beloved wife of Edward D. Devine, died on Thursday, January 1, 2004, at her home in Trumbull, surrounded by her family. Born in County Derry, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Harrigan Kelly. A resident of Trumbull, Mrs. Devine first emigrated to the United States from Ireland in 1966. Mrs. Devine was retired from Pitney Bowes, where she was employed for more than 25 years. She was a member of the Gaelic American Club, where she enjoyed participating in the Glee Club and the companionship of marvelous friends. She enjoyed many lovely summers at her family home in Harwich on Cape Cod, Mass. She will always be remembered for her kind heart, her lovely smile and her sparkling green eyes, and we know she will be dancing in heaven. In addition to her husband Ted, she is survived by her three children, Karen O'Brien and her husband, Richard, of Easton, Edward J. Devine and his wife, Connie, of Easton and Gerard J. Devine of Maine; along with her four beloved grandchildren, Katie, Connor, Morgan and Sean; her dear sisters, Georgina Russo and her husband, James, of Norwalk, Helen Lauersdorf and her husband, Otto, of Greenwich and Mary McCready of Sheffield, England; her loving brother, Joseph Kelly and his wife, Monica, of Derry, Northern Ireland; her goddaughters, Mary Curran and her husband, Hugh, and Christine Pullen and her husband, Daniel; and her godson, Otto Lauersdorf Jr.; along with many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers, Donal Kelly and Cornellius Kelly; and a sister, Ann Kelly. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, January 6, 2004, at 9 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Trumbull, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Friends may call on Monday from 4 to 9 p.m. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Connecticut Hospice, 1 Park Street, Norwalk, CT 06851, or St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The Devine family would like to express appreciation to the nursing staff at Connecticut Hospice, especially to our angel, Sheri.
