Kathleen Shea
Kathleen M. Shea (DeFonce) age 70, passed away on April 1, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in South Windsor, the daughter of the late Ann and Kerman Shea, she resided in Stratford where she and the late Charles P. DeFonce raised their three beloved daughters. Kay (Kathy) was a graduate of South Windsor High School and attended Mount Saint Mary College in New Hampshire. She was a communicant of St. James Church and was employed for over twenty-five years at Diversified Employment Services. Kay (Kathy) delighted in spending time with her family and friends and baking cookies for all to enjoy. Survivors include her three loving daughters and their husbands, Kathleen and Jim Fagan, Kelly and Mark Anselmi and Kristine and John Griffin; nine cherished grandchildren, Thomas and Matthew Fagan, Francesca, Giorgia, Valentina, Romeo and Terrence Anselmi and Korinne and Kerry Griffin; three sisters, Margaret Shea, Mary Quinn and husband Anthony and Ann Malinowski and husband Scott; two brothers, Kelly Shea and wife Kathy and John Shea; sister-in-law Roberta DeFonce; brothers-in-law Daniel J. Foley, Jr. and Andy Soccodato, Jr. and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Deborah Foley and members of the DeFonce Family. Friends may call on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. at Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 11,2025, at 11:00 a.m. meeting directly at St. James Church, 2070 Main St, Stratford. Interment to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one's choice. To make an online condolence please visit www.adzimafuneralhome.com
