Kevin Carbone Obituary
Kevin J. Carbone, age 72, of Trumbull, passed away suddenly on Wednesday November 3, 2021 at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport. Kevin was born in Bridgeport and remained a lifelong area resident of Fairfield County. He graduated from the University of Bridgeport having specialized in graphic design. As a co-founder and owner of Comp Design, Kevin worked to develop the imagery & iconography of major companies. In his early life, Kevin was an avid student of the photographic arts, and became and remained a lifelong bodybuilder and weightlifter. Kevin enthusiastically shared his passion for the Godfather of Soul, James Brown with nearly everyone who crossed his path. His smile, optimism and energy were contagious, and he was always happy to bend his ear to listen and in turn, provide his unique perspective of insightful advice. His laugh & light will be remembered by many. He is survived by his decades-long companion, Marcia Rifkin, of Trumbull, his nephew Michael Carbone, of Las Vegas and countless cousins living both in the U.S. and abroad. Friends are invited to attend his funeral on Monday at 10:30am at the Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Ave, Bridgeport. Burial will be in Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport. Kevin was a Villa Avenue Car Wash Shipmate circa 1971-1974. The all-important "Towel man" always appeared on the scene just as the first basket of dirty wiping towels reached a washload quota, about 20 minutes into busy winter Saturday mornings. Kevin recently contributed to the "Jiffy Wash" chapter of my Memoirs, but it seems that a diverse myriad of Car Wash colleagues will have to conduct our reunion in the hereafter. See you on the other side, Kevin!

I recently received the news of Kevin´s passing - my deepest condolences, he was kind, helpful and a true teacher of reality when I was at UB in the early 80s. Please take care and I will think of him every time I hear James Brown.

Where Kevin has gone to, I have asked two of our childhood friends, Penelope and Carrotoe, to look after him. They assured me they would.

Kevin was always just the brightest light. When I was little, I apparently told him I was going to marry him. He would often tell that story, even as I grew up, with a twinkle in his eye. It made us both chuckle and I smile as I think of his smile and his laugh. He was such a special man and I will always carry fond memories of him. My deepest and heartfelt sympathies go out to my cousin Marcia and all of Kevin´s family and those who had the chance to know and love him.
