Kitty Bryk Obituary

Kitty Kyle Robertson Bryk
7/29/2021
Kitty Kyle Robertson Bryk,69, died on July 29, 2021 in Manassas VA., from a brief serious illness.
Kitty was born In Bridgeport on Aug 10, 1951 to Lavenia (Memi)Robertson of Milford and the late James P Robertson. She is survived by her daughter Carrie Maris and her beloved grandchildren, Michael (Brandy), Christopher, Lane and Rhiannon as well as great grand-children, Levi and Aria, all of VA.
She is also survived by her siblings Juan Paul (Julianne), Russell (Jing) of CA, Timothy (Kate) of AZ, Paula (James) Denike of Newtown, Cheri Scholl of Milford. She was predeceased by her brother Donald.
Kitty,(known to family and neighbors as "Kyle") grew up in Stratford and graduated from Bunnell High School in 1969. As soon as she could, she became a volunteer Candy Striper at the Bridgeport Hospital and worked thru her teen years in their transportation dept. Her then married life took her to live at various Naval bases thru out the US, which landed her eventually in Norfolk, VA. As a young mother she attended nursing school. Though she didn't pursue a career in nursing she started a long career working for the Federal Government in DC. For the next 39 years, she worked primarily at the Pentagon in the Service Division working in roles such as Logistic Support Officer, Budget Officer, Management Analyst, Parking Management Officer, Fleet Manager. Her Boss said Kitty was well known at the Pentagon as she never met a stranger and always had to be the person to fix all others' problems, thus landing her the reputation of being the one person who could get the job done! She loved her job and the people she worked with.
In her spare time, she enjoyed watching the History Channel and Shark Week. She always was working on a crossword puzzle or her favorite acrostic puzzles and loved a challenging sudoku. She did cross-stitch and needlepoint to relax. She was a great cook. She gardened and watched the birds.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Services will be private.
