Landon Martin Obituary

Landon Noah Martin
Landon Noah, thoughtfully named by his adoring sister and brother, was born in the early morning hours of May 8, 2023 weighing just under 7 lbs. After wanting another child for years (and consistent begging from his siblings) the long awaited for angel baby boy was born in the planned season of spring. Though he spent 26 days in the Yale NICU overlooking Sleeping Giant State Park, he enjoyed each themed day his family and nurses planned, such as Arts and Crafts, Day in the Garden (with pressed flowers), Movie Night, Dance Party, Moon and Stars, and Spa Day which was complete with a makeshift jacuzzi using an oxygen tank to blow bubbles. Landon - Landie, Panda Bear, Landers, our blue-eyed baby - loved playing with and admiring his riot of siblings, cousins, and young family friends, watching the family dog, Scout, splashing in his blue tub, stroller rides, naps with Mommy and Daddy, and seeing his siblings participate in their sports and activities. Landon also enjoyed swim class and had his first lesson with his big sister and brother in November. A fall festival was the perfect opportunity for his siblings to miss school and embrace being a party of five. He especially loved late night cuddles and a movie, grabbing Daddy's headphones, a bottle of milk with a soft blankie and his glowing rattle, and a book read by his watchful brother or sister until he fell asleep. His first birthday was a celebration with an ice cream truck and a caravan of animals, including a chinchilla that leaped off his head which was met with excitement from all of his little friends. The youngest of three, Landon knew he was adored, cared for, deeply loved, and so each day was made special for however long we would be blessed with his presence. After a lifelong illness, Landon passed peacefully in his parent's arms on June 15, 2024 knowing he has our eternal love. He leaves behind his forever broken-hearted parents, Aaron and Sarah Martin of Fairfield, CT. His siblings, Arabella and Casten, who have also brought absolute joy to their parents during this time, loved their brother passionately, and cared for him by always giving him cuddles and kisses, creating photo shoots, dressing him up, making him laugh, and including him in their activities such as fort building, pumpkin carving, playing in the yard, gardening, and dancing. You, Arabella and Casten, are funnest and funniest people we know and for that alone Landon is the luckiest baby. He also leaves his paternal grandmother, Kathleen Martin, maternal grandmother, Janice Lombard, maternal grandfather, Peter Lombard, maternal great-grandfather Arthur Lombard, maternal great-grandmother Nina Michaud, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his paternal grandad, David Martin, and maternal great-grandmother, Denise Lombard.
Thank you to our family and friends who loved, cared, and showed true compassion and support throughout Landon's life by frequently calling and texting, providing meals, and loving all of our children as if they were your own. Thank you to Landon's NICU nurses, Marta, Chelsea, and Morelle, who cared for not only Landon, but his parents and siblings. And to Lauren, Kristin, Beth, Gail, Michele, and Amy, Landon's medical dream team of super women, for their true support at all hours. Please consider donating to the Landon Noah Martin account for which all funds will be used to support families with medically complex children, research rare diseases, and set up a scholarship at the local high school in his name. Checks may be made payable to Landon Noah Martin. A celebration of Landon's life will take place on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Although I do not know this beautiful child nor family and friends as I read the amount of love and joy this baby has given to so many I would like to express my sincere sympathy for your loss.
