LeRoy Hildebrand Obituary

HILDEBRAND LeRoy "Roy" Robert Hildebrand, age 90, of Orange, beloved husband of the late Rita Ann (Smith) Hildebrand, died on Saturday, January 24, 2009, in Milford Hospital. He was born on July 9, 1918, to the late George and Henrietta (Jahn) Hildebrand. He proudly served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Hildebrand owned and operated Roy Hildebrand Custom Builders and had developed and co-founded such properties as Indian Lake in Orange and the Valley Yacht Club in Devon, serving as past Commodore and was recognized in 2007 for his contributions. He was also an avid sailor. Survivors include a son, Eric Hildebrand of Baltimore, Md.; a daughter, Barbara Perito of North Haven; brothers, George Hildebrand of Orange, and William Hildebrand of Shelton; a sister, Ruth Schuler of Orange; three grandchildren Benjamin Hildebrand, Michael and Domenic Perito; and three great grandchildren, Rocco, Domenic Joseph and Daniel. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, at 11a.m. in the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford. Friends may call Tuesday prior to the service from 9:30 am. Interment will follow in Kings Highway Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers, may be made to Connecticut Hospice 100 Double Beach Rd. Branford, CT 06405.
