Lewis Morrow Obituary

MORROW Brother Lewis E. Morrow, CSC, age 67, a religious Brother for the Congregation of Holy Cross Fathers, died on Monday morning, August 30, 2004, at the Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Born in West Chester, Pa., on May 6, 1937, a son of the late Lewis and Helen (Chandler) Morrow, he was raised and educated in Pennsylvania. He took his First Profession on July 16, 1963. From 1963-1964 he served as the food service manager at the Holy Cross Novitiate in Bennington, Vt. He received his Perpetual Profession on July 19, 1968. From 1964-1970 he served as food service manager for the Holy Cross Fathers Seminary in Easton, and from 1970-1971 he was the steward at the Retreat house in Easton. In 1971 he served as coordinator of the Self Help Multi Services in Brockton, Mass., and from 1971-1976 he was the food service manager at St. Elizabeth-s Hospital, Brighton, and 1976-1977 at Milton Hospital, Milton, Mass. From 1978-1982 he was the chef for the CSC Community in Easton, and served as an assistant at St. Ann-s Church in Raritan, N.J. He attended the University of Bridgeport from 1983-1985 receiving a certificate from the Gerontology Program, and from 1985-1986 he served at Sacred Heart Parish in New Hampshire. From 1986 to 2000 he became the director of Pastoral Care at Victory Memorial Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y., from 2000-2001he worked in the position of pastoral care for the Catholic Charities, Diocese of Brooklyn. From 2001-2003 he was the Catholic chaplain at the Lutheran Medical in Brooklyn, N.Y., and from 2003-2004 he held the Elder status at the Holy Cross Mission House in North Dartmouth, Mass. He is survived by his brother, Leonard Morrow and his wife, Mia, of Upper Darby, Pa., and all his brothers of the Holy Cross Community. The funeral will be held at Ralph Aievoli & Son Inc., 1275 65th Street, corner 13th Avenue, Brooklyn, N.Y., on Wednesday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 10:15 a.m. at Regina Pacis Shrine Church. Interment in Holy Cross Community Cemetery, Easton, Mass.
