Louis E. DiPietro

DIPIETRO Louis E. (Ace) DiPietro, age 86 of Bridgeport, departed this life Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at St. Vincent Medical Center, Bridgeport to join his beloved wife Florence of 63 years. Born in Bridgeport, December 5, 1921, he was one of seven children born to the late Luigi and Maria DiPietro and was a lifelong area resident. He was educated in the Bridgeport school system and was an employee of Bridgeport Machines until joining the U.S. Navy and proudly serving during World War II, during this time he met his soul mate, Florence and they were married, September 12, 1942, raising a family together. After the war, he returned to work at Bridgeport Machines where he was employed for 43 years. During his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling with his wife, golfing, bowling, shopping and was a regular several times a week at diners with his friends and was an avid Yankee fan. Louis leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Mary Callahan and son-in-law, Ronald; his son, Michael DiPietro and daughter-in-law, Deborah; four grandchildren, Gina Hunt, Dale DiPietro, Michael DiPietro Jr., and Nicholas DiPietro; and several nieces and nephews, along with a host of other family and friends. He also leaves Molly, his cat, who he loved dearly. The family would like to thank Dr. Kathleen Harper, Dr. Kenneth Dressler and the staff at St. Vincent Medical Center for all their loving care. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2008 DIRECTLY in St. Michael's Garden Mausoleum, Stratford. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr. Wallingford CT 06492 in memory of Louis.
