Manuel Ribas Obituary
Manuel Jose (Nelzé) Ribas, age 63 of Bridgeport, the beloved husband of Lucia (Vilaverde) Ribas, entered into eternal rest, after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, April 10, 2015 in St. Vincent Medical Center, Bridgeport with his loving family by his side. Born in Padroso, Montalegre, Portugal on March 6, 1952, Manuel was a former president of the Vasco da Gama Club in Bridgeport, and was a retired employee for the City of Bridgeport. Survivors in addition to his wife include his loving mother, Julia (Martins) Ribas, his beloved children, Manuel Ribas, John Ribas and Cesar Ribas, his cherished sisters, Ana Maria Moura and husband Domingos, Helena Christina Vitorino and husband Joao, Lucilia Goncalves and husband Valdemar, Maria Joao Heller and husband Adam, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Jose Ribas. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 9:00 AM in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport and at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 429 Huntington Rd., Bridgeport with a Mass of the Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home. I am so sorry for your loss!
As I was looking at he CT post obituaries, because I heard on the news about Jose Salgado, what a surprise I had when I came across of the obituary of my former neighbor and best friend since childhood!
Please accept our deepest condolences and we are sorry we didn't find out sooner.
Please know that Nelze is in my prayers and we pray that God be with you all at this time of sorrow and give you strength to go on!
