Marcia O. Marshall, 86, a resident of Westport, Connecticut passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Marcia was born on February 28, 1939, in Bridgeport, Connecticut and was the daughter of the late John Patrick and Julia (Namesnik) Owen. Marcia grew up in Bridgeport with her siblings Julianne Owen, Gary Owen, and the late Sharon Owen Stolze. She attended Bassick High school and from there went on to earn a degree from Southern Connecticut State College.
She was married to the late Thomas R. Marshall and together they had three daughters: Marykate Marshall, Anne Eszlari (Edward), and Susan Marshall. She was the devoted grandmother to Jessica and Thomas Gladu; Jeffrey, Shannon, and Eric Eszlari; and Nicholas and Christopher Dostilio; and was the proud great-grandmother to Isabella, Aidan, and Liam. She was also the loving aunt to several nieces and nephews.
Marcia was a retired customer service representative from People's Bank and enjoyed her many years of service helping those in her community. She also had a passion for the arts. She was a ballet dancer in her youth and continued to appreciate music, dance, and theater throughout her life. She was a voracious reader and loved crossword puzzles but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be fondly remembered for her quick wit, playful teasing, and infectious smile. Her legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to family will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 meeting directly at Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Ave., Westport, CT at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery, 73 Greens Farms Road, Westport, CT. The family will receive friends in the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East, Westport, CT on Monday, September 29, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Condolences may be left online at www.hardingfuneral.com. Contributions in memory of Marcia in lieu of flowers may be made to Westport Volunteer EMS www.westportems.org
