March 15, 1925 - June 29, 2022
Margaret Nastu Michaels, age 97, of Bridgeport, wife of the late Edgar Michaels, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. Born March 15, 1925 in Blackstone, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Dimitrie and Nasta Cashavelly Nastu, Margaret had been a Bridgeport resident for most of her life. She was a longtime active member of St. Dimitrie Orthodox Church where she sang in the Church choir, belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary and was a willing volunteer for the festivals and bazaars. Margaret enjoyed bowling and was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics. She is survived by her son, James Michaels, and her beloved daughter-in-law, Olga, of Bridgeport; grandchildren, John Michaels, and his fiancee, Niurka, and James Michaels; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Arianna, and Jeremy James; and her special nephew, John Culetsu. She was predeceased by her sisters, Sylvia Culetsu and Elizabeth Nastu. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dimitrie Orthodox Church, 504 Sport Hill Road, Easton, with burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Friday at Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements in the care of the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home.
