Margaret Spinelli Obituary

SPINELLI Margaret J. Spinelli, age 90, of Gloversville, N.Y., died Tuesday evening, September 5, 2006 at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home, Gloversville. She was born on June 9, 1916 in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late Paul and Julia Ritzu Toaso. She came to Gloversville from Bridgeport in 1953. Margaret was employed at several clothing stores in the area including the former Harper's and the former Cohen's stores and at Rudolph's Jewelry Store, all in Gloversville. She was later co-owner of the former Mortan$s Casual Gal in Amsterdam, N.Y. She was a former member of the Nathan Littauer Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Gay of Huntington and Patricia Capano (Michael) of Gloversville, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, Timothy Gay, Stephanie Heisler, Thomas Gay, Sonny Gay, Andrew Gay, Stephanie Seltzer, David Bakyta and Lori Reid; 16 great-grandchildren, Bruce, Jennifer, Sara, Christine, Stephen, Elizabeth, Joshua, Ryan, Lindsay, Tyler, Tatem, Caroline, Taylor, Amanda, Alex and Abigail. She was married on July 25, 1932 to Stephen C. Spinelli who died May 3, 1987. She was also preceded in death by a sister and two brothers. Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2006 in the United Church of Christ, 2200 North Avenue, Bridgeport. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends and relatives may call on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 noon in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ambulance Service of Fulton County, 8 Frontage Road, Gloversville, NY 12078 or the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211 or the Gloversville Free Library, 58 E.
