Marian Calderwood McCarthy

MCCARTHY Marian Calderwood McCarthy of Shelton and widow of Charles J. McCarthy, died Monday, December 25, 2006 at Hewitt Memorial Hospital, Shelton. She was born in Canaan on March 17, 1915, daughter of the late William and Elena Boinay Calderwood and was a resident of Shelton for 65 years. Mrs. McCarthy was a retired Town Clerk of the City of Shelton and was also a member of the Shelton Senior Citizens- Center, a former member of Griffin Hospital Auxiliary and Hewitt Auxiliary. She is survived by her son, Timothy J. McCarthy of Beacon Falls; her two daughters, Ellen Shaw of Shelton and Marianne Markle of Shrewsbury, Mass.; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will take place Thursday at 10 a.m. DIRECTLY in St. Joseph-s Church, Shelton followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the James T. Toohey & Son Funeral Home, 92 Howe Avenue, Shelton.
