Marie Miakos Renzo
Marie Miakos Renzo, age 95, of Trumbull, beloved wife of the late Richard Renzo, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 31, 2024 with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport, on December 31, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas E. Sr. and Pauline Passaro Miakos. Alongside her husband, they operated Marie's Sandwich Shop in Trumbull Center where they were known for their "Famous" cinnamon doughnuts. She enjoyed ceramics and making porcelain dolls, and volunteered at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Marie had a great sense of humor and always brought a smile to her many customers and family. But above all things, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, always putting the needs of her family before her own. The unconditional love she gave will forever live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Marie will be dearly missed by all. Survivors include her three devoted daughters, Paula Andrews and her husband John of Trumbull, Patricia Bria and her husband John of Milford and Rosemarie Foote of Woodbridge, fifteen cherished grandchildren, John and Ana Andrews, Joseph and Naomi Andrews, Layla and John Pellegrino, Paula and Orlando Valle, Nicole and Jeremy Carlberg, Frankie and Amanda Curry, Richard and Danielle Renzo, Kristin Saez, Jessica Torchen, Marie and Mike Williams, Anthony Curry, Jonathan and Kate Bria, Barbara and Jamie Vogt, Jaclyn Bria and her fiancé Sam Murphy and Joshua Foote, she is also survived by 29 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter and her husband, Denise and David Curry and brothers Nicholas Jr. and Michael Miakos. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
