MANKA Marilyn Frances White Manka, 67, a resident of Fairfield, CT passed from this life on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 in her childhood home in Stamford surrounded by her beloved family. She was born in Upper Darby, PA on January 4, 1945 to the late Francis E. and Mary Ellen Hunt White. A lover of history, antiques, film, English gardens, libraries, books, architecture and Sasco beach. Marilyn will be remembered and held in our hearts as a truly dedicated, trustworthy, generous and beautiful soul who understood the meaning of unconditional love. Her children and grandchildren were her world and legacy. Marilyn leaves behind her loving children, Jennifer C. Robichaud and her husband Ronald of Westbrook, ME, Michael Manka, Jr. and his wife Nicole of Newtown, CT, Matthew J. Manka and his wife Dina of Stamford , Melissa S. Manka and her husband Matthew Van De Moortel of Belvidere, VT; her brother Dougie White of Stamford, her eleven grandchildren and her faithful cat Tigger. She is predeceased by her parents and husband Michael E. Manka, Sr. A funeral procession will be leaving The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 at 10:20 AM on Friday, March 9, 2012 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at the Church of St. Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Rockrimmon Road, Stamford. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 PM.
