Mario Forte Obituary

FORTE Mario M. Forte, age 86, of Bridgeport, a retired operating engineer for the Silliman Co., died on Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at his residence. Born in Bridgeport, on November 12, 1917, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Marie Cavaliere Forte. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Operating Engineers Union Local #478. Survivors include his beloved wife, Joan Ann DeLucia Forte; sons, Michael Forte of Bridgeport, and Robert Heid and his wife, Sue Ann, of Monroe; a brother, Alfred Forte and his wife, Eleanor, of the Huntington section of Shelton; three grandchildren, Tennille, Derek and Dylan; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Clara Weeks, Lena Forte and Inez Cook; two brothers, Robert and Leonard Forte; and a very special friend, Michael Medak. Funeral services will take place on Friday, May 28, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment with full military honors will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery of Easton. Friends may call on Thursday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 96 Oak Street, Hartford, CT 06106. We are so sad to hear about Mario's passing. We just were speaking to Mario at his cousin Rose Forte Rolleri's wake this past Sunday. Our prayers go out for Mario and his family.
