Mark Driscoll Obituary

Mark Thomas Driscoll
Mark Thomas Driscoll, beloved husband and devoted father, passed away unexpectedly on February 5, 2024, at the age of 54. He leaves behind a legacy of family, faith, and love that touched the hearts of all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of sixteen years, Amanda Cotter Driscoll, and their four children, James (14), Fiona (13), Caroline (10), and William (8). He was preceded in death by his devoted parents, James and Judith Driscoll, of Mt. Lebanon, PA. He is survived by his siblings. Jim and Mike Driscoll. of Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania, and Susan Falkowski (David), of Westwood, Massachusetts; along with nieces, Emma and Christina Falkowski; and nephew, Harrison Driscoll. Mark is also survived by his in-laws, William and Constance Cotter, of Fairfield, CT. In addition, he is survived by his sisters-in-law, Amory (Joseph) Mitchell and Diane (Matthew) Hagerty; along with nieces and nephews, Miles and Graham Mitchell, Trevor, Ryan, Elizabeth, and Taylor Hagerty, all of Fairfield, CT. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Christine (Patrick) Gregory; and niece, Madeline; and nephew, Timothy Gregory, of North Andover, MA.
Born on April 30, 1969, in Boston, Mark was the third of four children of the late James Joseph Driscoll and the late Judith Marie Driscoll. The family later moved to Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania, in 1974, where Mark attended public school and graduated in 1987 while excelling as a member of the Panther lacrosse team. Mark continued his education and lacrosse journey at Mercersburg Academy in Pennsylvania and later at St. Bonaventure University in Olean, New York. His proudest athletic moment was scoring a goal against Notre Dame, a memory he fondly shared with his older brother, Jim (ND '88), throughout the years. Mark began his successful career in the financial services industry in New York City, contributing his talents to companies such as Bloomberg and, most recently, NASDAQ, where he held the position of Associate Vice President for Market Platforms.
Mark's true joy in life was his family. While living in New York, he met Amanda, who would become the love of his life. United by a strong Catholic faith, shared values, and a competitive spirit, Mark and Amanda were married on February 2, 2008, at the Church of Our Saviour in New York City. Soon after, they moved to Amanda's hometown of Fairfield, CT, started a family, and immersed themselves in every aspect of the community. Whether on family trips, attending church, celebrating holidays with relatives, or participating in various activities with his children, Mark was a constant source of support and became a fast friend to everyone who met him. His greatest joy was time spent with his wife and children, doing the simple things in life, whether it be a family bike ride around the neighborhood, throwing the kids in the pool or attending any of their numerous sporting activities.
A devout Catholic, Mark and his family were active parishioners at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Fairfield, CT, where they regularly attended Mass. Mark was a member of the St. Pius Men's Group.
In Mark's spare time, he enjoyed running and participated in numerous marathons, including one in Iceland. As a family, they spent their summers at the Fairfield Beach Club. Mark's enduring legacy will be marked by his steadfast dedication to family, faith and his profound role as a loving, compassionate, and devoted father and husband. His warmth, generosity, and infectious spirit will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Funeral services were held on Friday, February 9, 2024, at St. Pius X Church. He was interred at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in Mark's honor may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation ( www.t2t.org ). Mark offered me my very first, impressive large market radio job. Although i didn't take the opportunity, i miss the fact i hadn't been able to work with Mark. He helped me gain the confidence to move forward, bigger and better in my career. Thanks, Mark!

I worked with Mark at Nasdaq. I want to say that he is a great guy and thoughtful person. Always cheerful and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. While there are many good things I could say about Mark, the one item I wanted to mention was that he would get a call every morning while his kids were being driven to school. That seemed to be the highlight of his day hearing from his kids.
