Woow Mar...
Can't believe that its been 2 years already. It felt like yesterday that I was sitting on the plane and got the call that you were gone. They say time heals all wounds. Not really sure how much time its going to take, because as I type this the tears are still running. Miss You sooo as I sit and remember alllllll that we had conquered.... including Mr. President ;-)

You have always and will continue to be the wind beneath my wings..... Paul, Jaime and Sasha... Love U guys. Keep the memories flowing... Mommy is resting, but she will never be forgotten.

I am trying to gather my thoughts as I type these words. Today was the day that I found out that Marlene passed away. I rode past her old home in Bridgeport with my daughter and she said to me, mommy I miss Marlene, I said I do too. I'll call her up and see if we can stop by her office one of these days. I remembered to call this morning and my heart dropped and my chest started to hurt when I found out that she is longer here with us. The first thing that came to mind was her daughter Sasha. I never met Sasha, but when we were house hunting, she would phone Sasha to make sure that she was at her dance recitals and/or practices. I truly thank God for Marlene. She touched my life, my daughter, my husband, and my family's life. What a saddened surprise to find out that she is gone. I pray sincerely for her children, her family, friends and those who came in contact with her. She was a beautiful person. I will never forget the song she used to play in her SUV by Yolanda Adams - It's Gonna Be Nice. God has another Angel up there in Heaven dancing around.

Paul, Jamie, and Sasha,
Your Mother is always with you, She is the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street... she's the cool hand on your brow when you're not well. Your Mother lives inside your laughter. And she's crystalized in every tear drop. She's the place you came from, your first home; And she's the map you follow with every step you take. She's your first love and your first heartbreak, and nothing on earth can separate you... Not time, not space ... not even death!!

To the Marsh and Bradshaw Family,
My prayers and heartfelt sympathy go out to you. It took me a long time to be able to write because it took me this long to really realize that I won't be able to hear Mar's laugh or see her smile. There really aren't enough words to describe Marlene. She was an awesome person, loving and caring. We worked together at Howe Furniture, and have been friends ever since. Paul, Jamie and Sasha, weeping may endure for the night, but joy will definitely come in the morning. Your memories of your mother shall become your joys. You will soon begin to laugh when you think of something that Mar fused with you about. You'll begin to repeat her favorite sayings. These things will begin to help you heal. If you ever need me I will always be here. Love you.

To the Family and Friends of Marlene E. Marsh,

"Life is eternal, and love is immortal,
and death is only a horizon;
and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight."
~Rossiter Worthington Raymond

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."
Deuteronomy 31:6

I leave these words of comfort for you all because as the days pass...we must not forget about Marlene's positive aurora.

An aurora is defined by a bright glow. It is seen especially on nights when the sky is clear. It is more common in the Polar Regions. It is for this reasons that some scientists also refer to an aurora as a polar aurora. In the northern latitudes, the aurora is called the aurora borealis. The aurora borealis derives its name from Aurora, the Roman goddess of dawn, and Boreas, the Greek word for a wind that blows from the northern direction.

When I think about Marlene, I think about her positive aurora and how she will forever be an important pillar in my life. I am blessed & happy that she met my father and supported me through my educational efforts in grad school.

During a time like this, I just pray that we continue to support and love each other as we never forget the aurora of Marlene. God Bless and Much Love! =)

Aunt Marlene,
Words cannot describe the feeling I felt when I was informed of what had happened. I sat and I cried thinking about you, Sasha, and Jaime. My last memory of you was when Toniann and I begged Mommy to drive from Jersey two weekends in a row just to be with you guys. It was always exciting being around you, Jaime, and Sasha. There were never any dull moments, just good times filled with lots of love and laughter. Aunt Marlene, you are greatly missed and I know you are looking down upon us everyday making sure that we're all ok.

Love you always,
Lauren

Often in the still of evening... I am sad and I am blue ... for my thoughts stray from the present ... to the past when there was you ... in my reverie I wander ... trying to recapture bliss ... of the moments of enchantment ... when I shared your tender kiss ... hand in hand we walk together ... down the lane of yesterday ... and I recollect quite clearly ... how you always showed the way ... evening is a time of splendor ... thoughts of you fill quiet hours ... as I share the tender meaning ... that was ours 'neath heavenly bowers ... in a dream of warm embraces ... I am happy once again ... yet I'm well awere it's hopeless ... to live in the way back when ... so I put away my dream world ... returning to reality ... but when evening shadows lengthen ... I will roam the used to be.

Ode to a Lost Friend

Looking back so many years,
to days of laughter, love, and tears.
Remembered joys, forgotten woe,
those fleeting times of long ago.

Through summer days, so warm and long,
when all the world was filled with song.
Those darker months in winter’s chill.
Sweet childhood spent on Summer Hill.

Remember family and friends,
the memory that never ends.
The happy times I shared with you,
though years sped by before we knew.

Now, sitting in the fading light,
staring towards eternal night;
my feet must follow, as of yore
the path that you have trod before.

And when as in the distant past,
our spirits reunite at last,
we’ll find that place that’s free from pain,
and you and I will laugh again.

Gone Too Soon
By Rhian Sutherland-Kissoonlal

We had only just met about 4 months ago,
I traveled up with family, to play in the snow.
The house was beautiful, we had a great time.
You took care of everything in the drop of a dime.
In the beginning, I was hesitant to let you in my heart,
But spending time with you tore that cold wall apart.
Even though you’re not blood, you’re a mother to me,
You were gentle, kind and loving, everything I wanted to be.
The world was unkind to you, even though you held no grudge.
Still, you took the hurtful treatments, and let God be the judge.
For the short time I knew you, I still loved your ways:
The movie watching and dumplin’ cooking, I’ll really miss those days.
We all know you’ve endured a lot and you took it without complaint.
No one handles life better than you. You’re amazing. You’re a saint.
I wish there was someway to make you come back,
Because your untimely death threw everyone off track.
We know you’re in a better place now, away from all the stress,
Just know that these next few weeks for us are going to be a mess.
This is our final Goodbye to our dearly beloved Marlene.
We only have one regret: that this was not foreseen.
We could always expect a smile, or a laugh, from your heart
And we want you to know that even death won’t do us ‘part.

In Loving Memory of Marlene “Meb” Elaine Marsh

If We Could Bring You Back Again

If we could bring you back again,
For one more hour or day,
We’d express all our unspoken love;
We’d have countless things to say.

If we could bring you back again,
We’d say we treasured you,
And that your presence in our lives
Meant more than we ever knew.

If we could bring you back again,
To tell you what we should,
You’d know how much we miss you now,
And if we could, we would.

Gone but not forgotten. We will always treasure you in our hearts.
