Mary Beisel Obituary

BEISEL Mary Elizabeth (Curley) Beisel, age 88, wife of the late Rex B. Beisel Jr., passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2007. Born in Bridgeport on June 16, 1919, she was the daughter of the late William H. Curley and Johanna (Curran) Curley and was very proud of her Irish heritage. She graduated from Albertus Magnus College, taught high school Spanish while raising four children and later obtained her realtor's license. She enjoyed traveling, tennis, major league baseball, the New York Times crossword puzzles, and a good book. She truly loved her family and friends. She was the beloved mother to her son, Rex B. Beisel III and daughters, Lori Beisel and Mary Ellen Cromwell. She is also survived by a grandson, Eric M. Fallon; granddaughter, Emily Beisel-Bolen; great-grandson, Trent S. Fallon; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, William J. Beisel; three brothers, William H. Curley Jr., Robert J. Curley, and John T. Curley; and a sister, Joan (Curley) Ferry. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Friday, July 27, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 2110 Main Street, Stratford. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, 2205 Stratford Avenue, Stratford. Friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to th Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405. www.jferryfh.com.
