Mary Malito Obituary

MALITO Mary Ventricelli Malito, age 94, of Fairfield, devoted wife of the late Michael Malito, passed away on August22, 2010 in St. Vincent's Medical Center. She was the loving mother of Joseph Malito, of Rhode Island, Marie Palmieri, of Fairfield, Irene Malito, of Virginia; cherished grandmother to Michael, Andrea, and Jessica, Jennifer, Donna, and Stephanie, Courtney, Thomas, and Nicole; great grandmother of ten; and caring aunt. In addition to beloved husband, Michael, she was predeceased by two brothers, Michael and Ralph Malito, and son-in-law, Vincent Palmieri. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, she had been a resident of Fairfield for most of her life. After her children were grown, she worked as an assistant chef in Sherman Grammar School and the Fairfield Board of Education for 24 years before her retirement. She enjoyed following her favorite TV soap operas over the years, delighted her family with wonderful Sunday meals, and played a meaningful part in raising her grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday 10 a.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center, and 10:30 a.m. in St. Thomas Church. Her interment will be private. Friends may greet her family on Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
