Maureen Baron Obituary

Maureen (Comerford) Baron, 84 of Ansonia passed away peacefully at home on March 10, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Maureen was born on January 4,1941 in Waterbury CT. Daughter to the late John J and Marie (Lawlor) Comerford. She graduated from Assumption School, Ansonia High School and Saint Mary's Hospital School of Nursing. Maureen found her calling in nursing and dedicated her life to helping others. Her kindness and generosity was evident to all who met her. Maureen enjoyed entertaining and reading. She was especially known for her hospitality, cooking, storytelling and sense of humor. She will be fondly remembered for her warm smile, blue eyes and her love for life and people. Maureen was predeceased by her loving husband Eugene Baron Sr. her devoted children Eugene Baron Jr, Anne Baron, and Kateri Streifel. Maureen is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Elizbeth Bamberg (Tyler), James Streifel (Danielle) Nicholas Streifel (Emily) Jack Baron (Haley) Maureen Baron and Eugene Baron; great grandsons Jace Bamberg and Wesley Streifel sisters Anne Roberts brother-in-law Edward, and Margaret Mary Comerford, sister-in-law Irene Baron and Brother-in-law Richard Baron as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Friday March 14 from 4-7 p.m. in the Bennett Funeral Home 91 N. Cliff St. Ansonia, Ct. on Saturday friends and family will meet directly at the Church of The Assumption for a mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peters Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers please make donation to the Assumption Church Social Outreach Programs in care of the Funeral Home.
