Michael Anziano Obituary

Michael F. Anziano Jr
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michael F. Anziano Jr, on July 17, 2024. Born on January 24, 1944, Michael was a lifelong resident of Stratford and later on Bridgeport, CT. He attended the University of New Haven, worked at Lycoming, Honda of Westport and was a sales rep for Forshner/Victornox. He also served in the Army National Guard for 6 years. Michael later became the proud owner of Anzy's Lawnmower Service in Bridgeport, continuing the legacy of this 3rd generation family business. He was a member of St. Mark Parish as an usher, ran the car raffles and volunteered his time for over 40 years. Michael was also the manager of the Anzy's Slow Pitch League, which aligned with his love for all sports. Saratoga was an annual destination for Michael and his dear friends. Michael brought a smile to everyone that knew him. He was known for his quit wit; his sense of humor and his passion for helping others. Michael is survived by his children, Brian, Michael and Victoria (Cannon Loudermilk), and his granddaughter, Julia, the love of his life. He is also survived by his sister, Louise Simonetti (John Simonetti), girlfriend, Susan Deipoly, and his former wife, Francine Poniatowski Anziano. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Louise Anziano and his sister Laurajane Vickerelli. Michael was a father, brother, and an uncle to several nieces and nephews and will be sadly missed by his family and his many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on August 3, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. meeting directly at St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. In his memory contributions can be made to St. Mark Church. Funeral services have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home- Stratford. I knew Mike for a relatively short time. Yet in that time, over motors and sports, he & I shared a friendship we looked forward to. Always anxious to share a new story or joke. He was Prideful...as a Son in his Fathers business, as a Patriot, a husband, a boyfriend, a Father, Brother, Grandfather, an Uncle. I knew he liked home made strawberry jam, and for that he'd stop and the wealth of stories began. Mike was old school and Proud of it. I last saw Mike on a visit while he was recovering, smile on his face and a see you later. More than the mechanic skills, I miss the man. I am sure he is sorely missed by his family...I wish them solace and peace with his memories.

To Michael's Family and Friends,
I am sorry to hear of your loss and send my deepest condolences to you. I knew Mike from the neighborhood when walking my dog, Bellamae. Mike was always friendly and lovely to chat with. I believe we last spoke in early Spring and I pray his passing was peaceful, for him and for all of you. Bellamae enjoyed Mike. I think he made her smile. I will miss his presence in the neighborhood, his easy smile and his taking time just to say "hi" and share some words. God Bless you all.
Sincerely,
Jalyn and Bellamae

To The Family of Michael Anziano
My condolences to all of you. Your dad was cousins with my dad (who passed away January of last year) and I started going to the 10:30 mass at St. Mark's with my sister where your dad was the usher. Your dad was always talking to us and invited us to get his tomatoes last summer.
I am so glad I got to know more of him. He was a kind and sweet man. May he rest in peace.
