Michael DelGais Obituary

Michael E DelGais Jr.
Michael E. DelGais Jr., "Mike", age 53, of Woodstock, Georgia, the husband of Carol DelGais, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025. Mike was born in Bridgeport, CT to Michael and Elaine DelGais. He attended Fairfield Preparatory High School and graduated from the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida with a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and master's degree in Environmental Engineering. His life journey was characterized by love, faith, an adventurous spirit, and commitment to family.
He will be remembered for his warm smile, intellectual conversations, his candor, and his passion for life. Mike was very patriotic, with a deep love for the Constitution, this country, and his heritage. He was always ready for a game of poker or chess, loved to go fishing, enjoyed watching sports, and was a scout leader for many years. His skills in woodworking and cooking were admired by many. Throughout his engineering career Mike was an innovative problem-solver, a patent inventor, and a dependable resource. Through his hard work and determination, Mike eventually fulfilled his dream of starting his own successful business in the air quality industry. In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by his two sons, Anthony and Michael Vance of Woodstock, Georgia; his parents, Michael Sr. and Elaine DelGais of Monroe, Connecticut; his siblings, Gennaro (Ashley) DelGais of Milford; and Christopher (Krista) DelGais of Seymour; his nephews, Matthew DelGais, Marvin Cunningham, Gavin Cunningham; and niece, Lilliana DelGais. Friends are invited to attend a memorial mass celebrating Mike's life on Thursday, April 10th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church 6948 Main St., Trumbull, CT 06611. Interment will be Private.

I shared sevaral family dinners with Michael at his parent's house & his aunt's house. Somehow, we gravitated to each other in conversation that I enjoyed. He was smart, ambitious, and a real "go-getter". We talked about the business he started and life in general. I will miss those conversations.
