Miguel Barreira Obituary
Miguel A. Barreira, age 45 of Stratford, peacefully entered into eternal rest after a long battle with cancer on Sunday, April 24, 2016, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Miguel was born in Chaves, Portugal, and was raised in Bridgeport, CT. He was an avid entrepreneur, owning his own masonry business for 16 years. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing on his boat and spending endless hours in his garage building things with his hands. He was a loving father, son and brother and his humorous personality will be forever missed. Survivors include his loving wife, Dawn (Falco) Barreira, and his children, Lindsey Silva and her husband Carlos, Marissa Colon, Miguel J. Barreira, and Anthony Barreira, his mother, Idalina (Martins) Pereira, father-in-law, Joseph Falco, several brothers and sisters, Diolinda Batista, Modesta (Armindo) Videira, Joaquim (Paula) Barreira, Abilio Barreira, Paula (Glenn) Dickinson, and Elizabeth Barreira, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Adelino Barreira. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 8:30 AM in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport and at 11:00 AM in St. Margaret's Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport with a Mass of the Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove of Easton Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday morning from 8:30 AM until Services.
