Mildred Cavaliere Obituary

Mildred T. Cavaliere
July 28, 1930 - Oct. 29, 2017
Mildred T. (Julian) Cavaliere, age 87, of Trumbull, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 29, 2017 in St. Vincent's Medical Center with her loving family by her side after a short, courageous battle with cancer. Born in Bridgeport on July 28, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Julian and Lillian (Mihlbauer) Julian. Millie was a graduate of Central High School in Bridgeport, class of 1948. She was employed at Anthony Julian Railroad Construction Company in Bridgeport as the secretary in charge of billing and payroll for more than 50 years. Millie will always be remembered for her immense love and perpetual care for her large family. She was never caught entering a gathering without less than four trips to the car of homemade cooking, but during the early years, Sundays were reserved for an open-door policy at her house. One of her favorite things to do was go to the casino. Whenever she was a winner, she would always try to split the winnings with whoever came along. Millie was always a winner on the bocce court, pinocle table, and dance floor. Even until the end, she never complained and always lent an ear for anyone who just needed to talk over "coffee and".
Survivors include her daughter, Gail Sheehan and partner, Francis Sapia, her sons, Richard (Ricky) and wife Kathi, and Vincent and wife Peggy Cavaliere, her seven grandchildren, Michael, Jessica, and Sarah Sheehan, Erica, Lindsey, Denee, and Vincent Cavaliere, her four great-grandchildren, Patrick, Parker, and Paxton Sheehan, and Harlow Bogan, her sisters, Lillian Duva, Jean Picarazzi and husband Guido, Mary Jane Lovanio and husband Dr. Richard, Barbara Hragyil and Skip Bishop, her brother, Dominick Julian and wife Paula, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joe and Lee Cavaliere, and sister-in-law, Lyda Julian, and several nieces and nephews and best friends too numerous to mention. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent Cavaliere, her brothers, Anthony (Sonny), Ray, and Donald Julian and her sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Nieuwbaur and Catherine (Kay) Lopatosky, and son-in-law, Barry Sheehan. The family extends their sincerest gratitude to the nurses on Level 8 at St. Vincent's Medical Center for making her last days as comfortable, dignified, and as peaceful as possible.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. DIRECTLY in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull with a Mass of the Christian Burial. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations may be made to SWIM Across the Sound, 2800 Main St., Bridgeport 06606 in memory of Millie. There are not many people who can be described as not having a mean bone in their body. I will remember Aunt Millie for her shy smile, her open-door hospitality, her more-the-merrier love of family in her midst. Her gentle demeanor touched all in her path(except maybe a one-armed bandit!). I hope we hear the click of pennies and casino chips echoing in heaven!
