Mitchell Greenbaum Obituary

GREENBAUM Dr. Mitchell Greenbaum, age 89 of Fairfield, died Sunday February 18, 2007 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Dr. Greenbaum was born in Bronx, N.Y., a son of the late Louis and Celia (Lessler) Greenbaum, and was a Veteran of World War II, having served as a Lieutenant Commander in the U. S. Navy. Dr. Greenbaum was the recipient of the Battle Star for his service in the Pacific and Iwo Jima. Dr. Greenbaum was a resident of Bridgeport and Fairfield for the past 80 years, and maintained his Dental Practice in Stratford. Dr. Greenbaum was a Past President of Congregation Ahavath Achim of Fairfield, a member of Loyalty Lodge # 58 I.O.O.F., The U.J.A., the Lions Club in Stratford, and worked as a fund raiser for Israel Bonds. Dr. Greenbaum is survived by his loving wife Roberta Abrams Greenbaum, his devoted children, Darryl Greenstein and her husband Jeffrey, Shari Goldberg and her husband Sidney, Harley Greenbaum and his wife Sari, Lauren Weiner and her husband Brian, his cherished sisters, Shirley Winnick, Elaine Barrar and her husband Richard, and by his adored grandchildren, Jeremy, Jennifer, Jessica, Stephanie and her husband Zachary, Allison, Simon, Samantha, Charlotte, Raquel, Aviva and Asher. Services will take place on Monday (TODAY) February 19, 2007 at 10 a.m. from The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home 88 Beach Rd. in Fairfield, with interment following at Loyalty Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Ahavath Achim.

Roberta and Family-I'm in Florida and just saw notice of Mitch's death.I am sorry I could not express my sorrow in person.We started practice at the same time (as you did with Dee).It was always fun and a privilage to see him in the office.
