Murray R. Glass

GLASS Murray R. Glass, age 89 of Bridgeport, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at The Jewish Home for the Elderly of Fairfield. Mr. Glass was born in Bridgeport, a son of the late William and Pauline (Feld) Glass, and was a graduate (magna cum-laude) of New York University. Mr. Glass was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, having served during World War II. Mr. Glass was a C.P.A. and senior partner with Friedberg, Smith and Co., and served as a commissioner of the Connecticut Board of Accountancy, appointed by Governor Ribikoff. Mr. Glass was a past president of the Connecticut Society of C.P.A.s, a past president of B'nai Brith, and was very active with the Bridgeport Area Foundation. Mr. Glass was an avid golfer, a member of Rolling Hills Country Club since 1977, and a member of Congregation B'nai Israel. Mr. Glass is survived by his loving wife, Estelle Wind Glass of Bridgeport; his devoted daughter, Patty Green and her husband, Lewis of Trumbull; his adored grandchildren, Steven Green and Katie Green; cherished sister, Clara Berk of Hamden; sister-in-law, Jeanette Bloom Friedman; and several nieces and nephews. Services will take place on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Congregation B'nai Israel 2710 Park Ave., Bridgeport, with interment following at B'nai Israel Cemetery on Moose Hill Road in Monroe. Shiva will be observed at the Glass residence "The Inwood" 3200 Park Avenue Bridgeport, on Thursday through Sunday evening. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation B'nai Israel, The Jewish Home for the Elderly, or to the Murray Glass Fund at The Bridgeport Area Foundation. Murray's family would like to thank his caregiver, Marcianna Lozada for her wonderful care and love, and the nurses, aids and staff of The Jewish Home. The Abraham L.
