Norbert B. Simon, 85, died peacefully at his home in Sandy Hook on November 21st. Mr. Simon was born on July 20, 1927, in Bridgeport a son of the late Andrew and Mary (Kubick) Simon. He was predeceased by his first wife Mary Ellen Glynn. Norb was a building contractor in the Fairfield area for 45 years. Upon retirement, he found a second career at the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth in Monroe for another 20 years. Norb enjoyed bowling, a wonderful day of fishing, a fun-filled day at the casino, but most of all the company of his family. He was a loving and caring husband to the love of his life Barbara (Cookie) Simon for over 35 years. He also leaves his children Linda Shepard, Mary Ellen Simon, Margaret VanNess, John Simon as well as his step children James McHatten & Jeanne Tillinghast. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, his brother and sister-in law Ralph & Janet Simon, several nieces and nephews and many friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St. Newtown.
