Norma Dow Obituary

Norma Lee Dow
Norma Lee Dow, age 76, of Virginia Beach, VA entered into rest on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022. She was the devoted wife of 58 years to Richard Dow. She was born in Milford, CT on January 3, 1946 daughter of the late Norman and Dorothy Curtiss Brown. She enjoyed all types of music, playing softball, shopping online, yard work, home decorating and being her home financial manager. Most of all she loved raising her family and all the time she was able to spend with them. One way to describe her was feisty and bubbly. She was caring, loving, funny and a master of "one liners" that left family and friends in stitches. Norma was playful. Her presence, energy and humor could light up a room. Everyone who met her and knew her loved her wit. Norma was honest to a fault… She told you the truth even when it hurt. She is the mother of Richard Dow, Jr. and his wife Dawn, loving grandmother of Elisha Zanfardino and her husband Enzo, Nicole Knauth and her husband Patrick and Kaitie Dow, great-grandmother of Skylar, Kinsley, Kaiden Knauth and Vienna and Jaxon Zanfardino. She is also survived by a brother Norman Brown, Jr. and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters Barbara Mellanson and Sheryl Biroscak and her puppy companions Muffin and Joshua. Friends may call on Thursday March 3, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. Masks are required inside the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday March 4, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. in St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Rd., Newtown. Friends may watch her funeral by going to www.strosechurch.com and click on Voice of St. Rose. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital. https://www.stjude.org/
