Pamela Hatzis Obituary

HATZIS Pamela Furjesz Hatzis, age 65 of Trumbull, beloved wife of 41 years to Gus Hatzis, entered into rest peacefully Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born May 12, 1944 in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Marion Belus Furjesz. A graduate of Andrew Warde High School in Fairfield, she attended Texas Women's University and Alderson Broddus College in West, Va. She was employed as a lab technician at Clairol and Schick and had also worked with her husband at his business, The Stillson Pharmacy, located in Fairfield. A loving and devoted individual who centered her life on her family, Pamela loved to travel and cook for her family. A lover of nature, she had a fondness for butterflies. Survivors in addition to her devoted husband, Gus, are her beloved cousins, Helen Fausz and husband, Raymond, Linda Kentosh and husband, Martin, Rev. Lois Ann Oler and husband, David and John Belus and wife, Ann; sister-in-law, Antegoni Leventis; her brothers-in-law, Van Hatzis and wife, Christina, Nick Hatzis and wife, Claire, Steve Hatzis and wife, Florence, Stacey Hatzis and wife, Donna; and several nieces and nephews. She was prede-ceased by her loving son, Atty. Dean Thomas Hatzis. Friends are invited to attend funeral services Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Fr. Demetrios A. Recachinas Protopresbyter officiating followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Calling hours are Wednesday (TODAY) from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Commerce Hill Funeral Home, 4798 Main Street, Bridgeport (on the Trumbull line). Trisagion Ser-vice at 5:45 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pamela and Dean Hatzis Scholarship Fund in care of the church.
