Patricia LaPorta Obituary

Patricia Ann LaPorta
Patricia Ann (Patti) LaPorta, of Shelton, passed into eternal peace, February 17, 2024. One of five children born to the late Dorothy and Ray Lewis in Brooklyn, New York, Patti married her husband Gene in 1976 and raised her family in Connecticut. After working as an insurance executive for several years, Patti decided it best to devote her time to being the best mom for her two daughters Meg and Beth. She loved nothing better than to have family and friends surround her; be it summer vacation on the Cape or barbecues on the deck. Most of all Patti was proud of her five grandchildren, who always smiled when spending time with Nana. Her brothers and sister provided more joy, as her extended family included eleven nieces and three nephews. Whether hosting another LaPorta bash, making certain there were enough presents under the tree, family/friends gatherings or watching her kids surf the boat wake on Lake Lilly, Patti was always at her center when it came to family. Throughout her ordeal, Patti was graced by the care of one special, devoted and remarkable doctor who will remain in our family's heart forever. She will be sorrowfully missed by her husband, daughters Meghan Chase (husband Ray; grandsons Cameron, Brendan and Kyle), Elizabeth Galotti (husband Kevin; grandchildren Abigail and Alexander); sister Susan Noto (husband Michael; children Caitlin, Leah and Michael); brother James Lewis (wife Kathleen; children Allison, Kimberly and Jaqueline), brother Brian Lewis (wife Susan; children Christina, Alexandra and Brian), brother Richard Lewis (wife Rae), brother-in-law John Muller (children Tom and Courtney) Whitney Bradbury, Jennifer Rozinsky and dear friends Mimi and Papa (aka Peg and Dan Kushman, children Scott and Ryan). She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Mary Ellen Muller. Visitation will be conducted at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Friday February 23 from 4 to 8 p.m. On Saturday everyone is invited to go directly to St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Avenue, Shelton, at 10 a.m. for Patricia's Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at The Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Donations in her name may be sent to The Spooner House, 30 Todd Rd., Shelton, CT 06484.
