Patricia Terceño Obituary

Patricia Terceño
March 11, 2026
Patricia Ann Terceño, age 88, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Joaquin "Kino" Terceño and known as Patty, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026, with her family by her side. Patricia was born November 9, 1937, in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Robert and Margaret (Fallon) Sharpe, and had been a lifelong area resident. She loved Stratford and its beaches, and never let a sunset, sunrise, or a beautiful sky go unnoticed. Patty graduated from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing in 1959. While still in school, she eloped with Kino on Milford beach. Patty and Kino met in Stratford when she was 6 and he was 7 years old. They were married for 65 years. Patty was a devoted mother who stayed home for 19 years to raise her family, then returned to work as an RN supervisor at Park Avenue Health Care Center. She spent many years as a girl scout leader and a volunteer at St. James School and worked as a nurse at the school. She loved singing in the chorus and enjoyed crafts from ceramics to knitting, as well as drawing and painting. Patty's faith was strong and she attended church on Sundays when able. Once when asked what she wanted to be remembered for, Patty replied that she wanted to be remembered for raising four kids she could be proud of and loving her husband as much as she did. After losing the love of her life in January 2025, she enjoyed visiting with family, especially her great grandchildren with whom she visited often and continued to spend vacations in Maine, and spending her days at Mozaic Adult Day Care, where she enjoyed all the activities and the people she was with daily. She was very sociable by nature and had a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed breakfast on the beach, shopping, going out to lunch and an occasional movie. Survivors include her children, Deborah Mackbach and her husband Paul, Suzanne Petersen and her husband Ronald, Sandra Leslie and her husband Kevin, and Joaquin "Jack" Terceño III and his wife Sara; grandchildren, Ryan Mackbach and his wife Amber, Brittany Mackbach and her husband Oskar Malbaurn, Caitlin Petersen and her partner Avery Molnar, Taryn Petersen, Kyle Petersen and Joaquin Terceño Martinez; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Petersen, Caleb Malbaurn, Cora Malbaurn, Hailey Malbaurn, Harper Malbaurn, Leigha Mackbach, Aurora Mackbach, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Robert Sharpe, Jr., Larry Sharpe, and Kathleen Garvey. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial celebrated on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Church, 651 Stratford Rd., Stratford, CT 06615. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may visit with her family Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford, CT 06615. Donations in her name can be made to ASPCA or any animal welfare charity.
