Paul Matejek Obituary

MATEJEK Paul Matejek, age 91, husband of Anne Rogowski of Ansonia, died Friday, October 27, 2006 at Connecticut Hospice of Branford. He was born January 2, 1915 in Derby, son of the late John and Tillie Sobol. He worked as a drill press operator for Farrel Co., retiring 35 years ago. He was a member of The Farrel Old Timers' Club, The King Hiram Masonic Lodge of Shelton and founding member of The Ritz Boys Club of Ansonia. He was also a former member of The Milford Power Squadron. In addition to his wife, Anne, he is survived by two daughters, Elaine McClellen of Ansonia and Meredith McNulty of Virginia Beach, Va.; one sister, S. Lottie Murzin of Ansonia; four grandchildren, Daniel McClellen of Oxford, Jill McClellen of New York City, Christopher McNulty of South Riding, Va. and Shannon Reyes of Chesapeake, Va.; and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Eugene. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 9 a.m. from The Jenkins-King Funeral Home, 12 Franklin Street, Ansonia. Burial will be private. Friends may call on Monday, 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul's memory may be made to The Griffin Hospital Development Fund, 130 Division Street, Derby, CT 06418 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Connecticut V.N.A., 680 Bridgeport Avenue, 3rd floor, Shelton, CT 06484. Paul Matejek, best husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather in the world. He was loved by his family "way up to the sky."
