Paul Pinchuk Obituary

Paul H. Pinchuk
Paul H. Pinchuk, age 77, entered eternal rest on November 23, 2024, at his home in Ansonia. He was the loving husband of Veronica Greski Pinchuk. Paul was born in Derby on December 14, 1946, son of the late Harry and Julia Chrostowski Pinchuk. He was a graduate of Shelton High School and later the Connecticut State Police Academy. A resident of Ansonia since 1988, Paul was employed as a Connecticut State Police Officer for the Department of Mental Health and Addiction at Bridgeport Hospital for many years until his retirement. A proud veteran, Paul honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era and was a member of the VFW. He loved to take trips to the casino to try his luck and occasionally enjoyed fishing. Paul was a fan of UCONN women's basketball and the Boston Red Sox. Most of all, Paul was an extremely generous person who will lovingly be remembered for his kindness to others. In addition to his wife Veronica, Paul leaves to cherish his memory, a sister-in-law, Lorraine Greski of Ansonia, as well as several cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Pinchuk and brother-in-law, Ronald Greski. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Friday, November 29, 2024, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. His funeral will then proceed to St. Joseph Church in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment with full United States Army military honors will immediately follow in St. Michael's Cemetery in Derby. Contributions in Paul's memory may be made directly to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation at www.t2t.org. To sign Paul's guestbook or share a memory, please visit, www.spinelliricciutifh.com.

I knew him when he was a handyman at the state park before becoming a Security Guard at the State Sanitarium (frequently misidentified as Bpt. Hospital) in the lower East Side of Bridgeport, where he and his partner security guard Goldstein would watch the parked cars and occasional stray cat from the guard shack for 20 years.

He always went above and beyond his security guard duties with his handi wipes, germicidal aerosols and straightening all the notices on the bulletin board to perfection. Fastidious to a fault!

They're still talking about him.

Ronnie and Lorraine.
Again, my heartfelt sympathy on the loss of a genuine American. Paul was proud of his service (Vietnam) and to his state as a member of the CT State Police. I'll miss his robust greeting at the neighborhood convenience store. A good guy and by his nature, generous.
We'll miss Paul's presence in our daily journey.
Sincerely

David
