Pauline Taylor Obituary

Pauline Grace Taylor
Pauline Grace Taylor, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024, after 99 well-lived years. Born in Bridgeport, CT, on March 24, 1925, to Benjamin Franklin White and Dorothy Laird White, Pauline grew up in Bridgeport, Stratford, and then Milford, where she met and married Kenneth Taylor and raised their family of 7. A hard worker since she was young, Pauline was a nightshift, telephone switchboard operator at Bridgeport Hospital in the 1950s, when the switchboard system was new. After 50 years of service as a secretary for the U.S. Department of Defense, "Polly" retired from her full-time job at age 95! She enjoyed spending time with her family, chatting with relatives and friends, knitting, cross-stitch, working in her yard and keeping her house spotless.
Pauline was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth, in 1969, son, Kipp Taylor (the favorite), siblings, James White, Barbara Middaugh and Joyce White. She leaves behind sons: Gibson and Karen Taylor, Jay and Kathleen Taylor, and daughters: Denise Clinton, Stacey and Bruno Zdanowicz, Randi and James Somers, Paulette and Andrew Vargo; twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Pauline will be greatly missed by her family, friends, neighbors, and former co-workers. Mom, we love you, miss you and thank you for being the rock of our family.
