I knew him as "Mosse", but I always liked and respected him for his calm demeanor. One time, my lunch money was taken (a shake down)! I don't know how he found out, but I was called to his office and he asked how much was taken. I think it was like $1.50, or something like that. He reached into his own pocket and gave me his own $$ so I could buy lunch!
I also remember how he would quietly dare NOT to laugh at his signature on hall passes...P.Ness (but the way he wrote the period looked a lot like a lower case "i"). I'm sure anyone who knew him remembers this!
RIP Mr. Ness!

Mr. Ness and Mr. Harvey were our 2 athletic coaches at either Wooster Jr. High, Wilcoxson, or Bunnell High School where I graduated in 1969? Real nice guy but, his physical size was very imposing.

I would like to express my deepest condolences to his family. Mr Ness was the assistant principal at Stratford High School when I was a sophomore (1979). He played a huge role in my future, because he talked Mr Crawford (Principal) into not having me thrown out of the entire Stratford school system. The following year he became Principal and because of him I graduated with my class (1981) For that I am forever grateful. Thank you Mr. Ness.

This does not even touch the surface of Mr. Ness, my principal, while at Strafford high school, 1981 graduating class.
From time to time there appear on the face of the earth men of rare and consummate excellence, who dazzle us by their virtue, and whose outstanding qualities shed a stupendous light. Like those extraordinary stars of whose origins we are ignorant, and of whose fate, once they have vanished, we know even less, such men have neither forebears nor descendants: they are the whole of their race.
