Phillip Wright Obituary

WRIGHT Phillip L. Wright, a resident of Flushing, New York, died on Friday, November 7, 2003, at his residence, at the age of 49. He was born in Sumter, S.C., on February 6, 1954. He was the son of the late Nathan Wright and Eva Burns Wright of New York.; and the husband of Norma Harper Wright of New York. Mr. Wright served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of King Emmanuel Baptist Church in New York. In addition to his wife and mother other survivors include: one son, Diedrich Wright of New York; daughter-in-law, Debra Wright of New York; two brothers: Herbert Wright of Virginia and Charles Wright of New York; and a stepbrother, Jerry Wright of South Carolina; eight sisters: Nellie Blair of South Carolina, Bertheen Holden of New York, Ruby Banks of Connecticut, Rev. Earthlee Reed of South Carolina, Delores Brown Bacon of Connecticut, Margaret Howard of Connecticut, Pearl Wright of Florida and Deborah Britt of Connecticut. A host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, cousins and friends. Calling hours: Friday, November 14, 2003, 10 to 11 a.m., at Westend Tabernacle, 265 Colorado Avenue, Bridgeport. Funeral service at 11 a.m. in the church with Rev. Earthlee Reed officiating. Burial to follow at Veterans Cemetery, Middletown, Connecticut. Betty M. Lorde Funeral Service, 1332 North Avenue, Bridgeport is in charge of arrangements, under the direction of Yvette F. Hampton, funeral director.
